I'm using the lastest 1.1 studio release and have recently upgraded to Open Office 3. Before the upgrade, there were no problems with the Studio but since the upgrade, have had troubles opening letters.

Problem:
When opening an existing project and opening a letter, the Open Office editor does not show up when double clicking on the letter.

To Reproduce:
1. Open existing project
2. Open existing letter

(trivial, I know)

I will get the following exception. Sometimes, I'll get the Open Office "Recover document wizard" pop up but most times, the OO editor window will be simply blank. I can provide the project if need be.

Just a couple of quick questions in relation to this problem...

- Do you have OO 3 and OO 2.4 installed on the machine and which version is running in the background as the quickstarter?

- Does this problem occur when you open a document, close it and open another? Are you using the OpenOffice close command?

Hi Peter,

This sounds like a problem we discovered and fixed early on with 2.x of OpenOffice. When the OpenOffice editor 'disappears' can you double-click on the title bar of the Letter editor and see if the OpenOffice editor reappears? You can see the title in the screenshot at http://www.in4ama.org/resources/screenshots/studio/studiomain.png. It has the text 'Letter - InsuranceCertBody'
